We are Wedding photographers based in Sheffield. Our passion is capturing portraits and tender moments. We love nothing more than to find picturesque locations and exploring them with our couples. Undeniably a joyful experience. We thrive in the North and enjoy discovering new places and connecting with people who share our appreciation for nature and photography. This synergy between beauty and our Northern roots is embodied in our brand, Lovely up North.
Being wedding photographers is a genuine privilege. Our job aligns with our passion, giving us the chance to connect deeply with others who share it. Notably, Ake and Andrei are among those we’ve had the honour of photographing. We connected immediately and through documenting their wedding and subsequent moments, we truly cherished their love story.
Following their wedding, we embarked on a two-day journey to the mountains for an after-wedding session. As we headed towards the charming town of Sinaia, we planned to spend a night in a mountain cabin. The day promised to be beautiful, with the sun shining bright in a deep blue sky. Although scattered clouds dotted the horizon, our spirits remained high, unconcerned with any potential bad weather. As we were driving up to the mountains, we often stopped where the landscape was most interesting. We captured tender moments against stunning backdrops, with no other soul in sight—truly a heartwarming experience.
Arriving at the cabin later in the afternoon, our excitement dimmed slightly. It became clear the scattered clouds from earlier in the day came together and grew so much they could potentially ruin any stunning sunset shots we prepared for. However, our optimism persisted as we left our car behind at the cabin and set off on foot towards the summit.
Straightaway our perseverance paid off as the sky suddenly cleared revealing a mesmerising sunset. Above the few clouds, the landscape was bathed in golden light. With our cameras in hand, we immortalised this stunning moment shared by our lovely couple. What better way to capture the essence of starting a life together than with a session that inscribes such beauty into memory?
As the sun dipped below the horizon, we returned to the cabin, greeted by the night sky. The evening was filled with swapped stories and laughter. It all culminated with Andrei setting up a semi professional telescope which unveiled the captivating worlds of planets and stars. Witnessing Jupiter and Saturn firsthand was an awe-inspiring experience. Seeing them through the eye piece really emphasised the vastness of the universe and our place within it.
The next morning, we visited a nearby lake where Ake and Andrei donned traditional Romanian attire, offering yet another opportunity to capture exceptional shots. Although we wished our adventure would continue indefinitely, all good things must end. Our photo session concluded on a high note, as seen below.
